Guildford Feminist Book Club

Guildford Feminist Book Club was the fifth book club to launch, from our previous South London member, Chantelle - she enjoyed our London book club so much, when she decided to leave South London and moved to Guildford she wanted to set one up there. We were thrilled at the idea of having another community, so from there, the Guildford Feminist Book Club began!

About the book club:

Looked after and managed by book club lead, Chantelle, the Guildford book club meets on a monthly basis to discuss their book club pick of the month. As with the rest of our book clubs, they follow the same theme - they read books by women, for women, but are open to all - so please do go and join them if you are living in the Guildford / Surrey area.

Does Guildford host author events as well?

Yes! Like the rest of our book clubs, the Guildford branch will also host ad-hoc author events. We want the club to reflect what our members love, so from time to time there will be the occasional visit from an author - how lucky are we!?

How do I join Guildford Feminist Book Club?

Joining the book club couldn’t be easier. Every month we pop our events on Cliq, an app which showcases events which are going on across the country. Just search ‘The Feminist Book Club’ and you’ll see the Guildford branch. If you don’t want to download another app, then don’t worry, you can buy the tickets directly through a link.

Here are two other ways to get tickets to our book club:

  1. Follow us on Instagram - @guildfordfembookclub, all upcoming book clubs and author events are always promoted on our page

  2. Sign up to Guildford specific mailing list here, and all the latest news and information will be sent directly to your inbox

Is there a book shop you’d recommend?

Our first recommendation is always to check out the local library! Why spend money on books when you can borrow them for free? We’d highly recommend signing up to Guildford’s Library.

But if you love the feeling of a brand-new book (who doesn’t?) then we’d always recommend to shop local, here’s some of our favourites:

  1. Haslemere Book Shop

  2. The Cobham Bookshop

  3. Foster Books

If you have been reading through this page and would like to join the book club, but have a few more questions, please do look at our FAQs page, or if they don’t answer your questions then email us via the button below.

If you are an author, publisher, venue or business and would like to speak with us about a partnership, collaboration or book club event, we’d love to hear from you, please do drop us an email.
